1. Who we are

Nova is published by Alpha Nova AI LLC, a limited liability company in Sammamish, WA, United States. In these terms, "we" and "us" mean Alpha Nova AI LLC, and "you" means the person using the app or this website.

2. Accepting these terms

By installing or using Nova, you agree to these terms and to the privacy policy. If you do not agree, do not use the app. You must be at least 13 years old, and old enough in your jurisdiction to enter into this agreement.

3. Beta software

Nova is currently in beta and is provided free of charge during that period. Beta software can contain defects, and features may change or be removed. Do not rely on Nova as your only record of your finances.

4. What Nova is — and is not

Nova is a personal tracking and budgeting tool.

• Nova is not a financial advisor and does not provide investment, tax, or legal advice.
• Nova does not move money, execute trades, or make payments.
• Nova is not a bank, is not affiliated with or endorsed by any financial institution, and offers no FDIC or other deposit insurance.
• Categorizations, projections, insights and AI-generated observations are informational. Decisions you make from them are yours.

5. Your data and your device

Your financial data is stored on your device, not on our servers. You are responsible for your device's security and for any backups you want to keep. If you lose the device, erase the app data, or uninstall Nova, the data goes with it and we cannot recover it for you.

6. Third-party services

Nova relies on third parties to deliver certain features — Plaid for bank connectivity, an AI provider for categorization and parsing, and a market-data provider for prices. Their availability and accuracy are outside our control, and your use of a linked bank account remains governed by your agreement with that institution.

7. Acceptable use

Use Nova for your own personal finances. Do not reverse engineer, decompile or tamper with the app; do not attempt to gain unauthorized access to our backend; do not use the service to break the law or infringe anyone's rights; and do not send automated or abusive volumes of requests to our endpoints.

8. License

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use Nova on devices you own or control. We keep all rights in the app, the website, the Nova and Alpha Nova AI names, and all associated content. Your own financial data remains yours.

9. No warranty

Nova is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that imported or categorized data will be complete or correct.

10. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Alpha Nova AI LLC is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost data, or financial losses arising from your use of Nova. Our total liability for any claim relating to the service will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid us for it in the twelve months before the claim, or USD 50. Some jurisdictions do not allow these limits, in which case they apply only as far as the law permits.

11. Changes and availability

We may update, suspend or discontinue Nova or any feature, and we may revise these terms. When we revise them we will update the effective date above, and material changes will be noted in the app. Continuing to use Nova after a change means you accept the revised terms.

12. Termination

You can stop using Nova at any time by deleting the app. We may suspend access for a user who violates these terms. Sections 4, 9, 10 and 13 survive termination.

13. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Washington, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. The state and federal courts located in King County, Washington have exclusive jurisdiction over disputes, and you and we each consent to that venue.
